Whatever soap you use, if the collar stains in your shirt is persistent, don’t worry! Rub some sugar at that spot and wash. Whoosh! The dirt will vanish in no time. So, we are eating a chemical which can be used for removing dirt from clothes. If this is the case, then what will be the condition of our intestine after consuming such a chemical? Who can hate sweets? Sugar is influencing our lives from the morning bed coffee to night’s milk. Not only we take sugar in our edible items but we take sugar as such too. You will never touch sugar if know the process of manufacturing of Sugar!
Let us see the list of chemicals used for the production of Sugar,
- Initially, Chlorine or bleaching powder is added to the sugarcane juice. Fluid bacteria are used as controllers.
- Phosphoric acid is added at the rate of 200ml/litre of sugarcane juice and heated at a temperature of about 60 to 70 degree centigrade. This acid acts as a dirt remover.
- Then, 0.2% of Calcium Carbonate is added and Sulphur-di-oxide vapour is passed over the solution.
- It loses all its Vitamins when heated to a temperature of 102 degree centigrade and gains excess of Calcium.
- At the next step, it is mixed with Poly electrolytes, which helps in removing sand particles and the sugarcane remains. Now a clear solution is obtained.
- In order to get a denser solution, Caustic Soda and Washing Soda are mixed with the solution in the heating chamber.
- This solution is now crystallized using Sulphur-di-oxide and Sodium Hydro-Sulphate. The poison of Sulphur-di-oxide is thoroughly mixed with sugar at this stage.
Eventually, Carbon is the only element that remains in Sugar. Sugar manufactured by this process expires after six months. Because, after six months it becomes yellowish in color, which shows, the Sulphur-di-oxide becoming a stronger poison.
This sugar not only affects the digestive system, also it causes tooth ache, tooth decay, cold, obesity, and worst health issues like heart disease, B.P., and diabetes.
Instead of taking sugar manufactured at factories, we can have the alternate jaggery, brown sugar, organic sugar and palm sugar which cause no health hazards.
